LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College's men's cross country team put together its best race of the season in finishing second to Calgary in its division of the annual Inland Empire Collegiate Championships at the Lewis-Clark State course in the Lewiston Orchards.
While
Nolan Ryan was leading the Warrior men,
Ariel Jensen was doing the same for the Warrior women who were fourth in their division but who are showing coach
Mike Collins what he wants to see with the Frontier Conference championship just three weeks away.
"Both teams ran really well," Collins said. "We knew it would be pretty fast. It was a very, very competitive field with all the Division Is that come down.
"I was pleased with our running. It was a good day."
Ryan, running a personal best 24 minutes, 19.5 seconds over the 8K course, was eighth overall in the 139-runner field and third in the non-Division I category – but first among the NAIA competition.
