LCSC women stand second at Whitman Invite

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Kayla Monroe shot a seven-over-par 79 to help the Lewis-Clark State College women's golf team stand second after the first round of the Whitman Invitational on Saturday.

The two-day 36-hole tournament, which is being played at Wine Valley Golf Club, wraps up with the final 18 holes on Sunday.

Host Whitman holds the lead at 316, while LCSC is second four shots back at 320. Pacific Lutheran also is in the mix at 321.

LCSC's Allison Kadinger and Marissa Louder tied for the sixth best round of the day at 80, while Blake Greenup had an 81.

Team scores – 1, Whitman 316. 2, LCSC 320. 3, Pacific Lutheran 321. 4, Whitworth 336. 5, Spokane CC 355. 6, tie, Linfield and Puget Sound, 377.

Overall leaders – Desirae Haselwood, PLU, and Anna Jessen, PLU, 77.
