WHITEFISH, Mont. — After a stellar performance at the Inland Empire Championships on Saturday, junior Cole Olsen earned his second Frontier Conference Cross Country Runner of the Week honor of the season.
On Saturday, Olsen not only ran a personal-record of 23:42, over a minute faster than his previous best, but he also ran the second fastest 8k in the history of Lewis-Clark State men's cross country. He finished fifth overall in the race and was the top NAIA finisher. Teammates Chase Barrow and Clayton Vandyke also set new career-bests.
"I sincerely appreciate the honor," Olsen said. "I'm just thankful for my teammates and athletic staff for pushing the team to do our best and I'm extremely excited to see what we can bring the rest of the season."
The Warriors look to carry the fast times into the Frontier Conference Championships on Nov. 8 in Billings, Mont.
