VOLLEYBALL

The Warriors of LC State Volleyball are back in Lewiston for a pair of CCC contests, starting with No. 13 Eastern Oregon on Friday at 7 p.m. On Saturday at 5 p.m., LC welcomes in-state rival College of Idaho to town. EOU swept LC earlier in the season in La Grande, Ore. The Warriors challenged the Mountaineers, currently tied for second in the conference standings with a CCC record of 10-2, and forced two sets into extra points before falling in three (30-28, 25-18, 27-25).

LC State earned its first conference victory of the season with a 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 25-17) win over C of I in Caldwell, Idaho. Cassidy Nelson tallied a season-high 19 kills in the match and Tori Edwards added 14. Kenzie Dean was stellar in the back row with 27 digs, while Josie Peters and Nelson each had 13.

Friday will be Dig Pink Night in the Activity Center, aimed at supporting breast cancer awareness. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the match. It is also Dollar Night, so hot dogs and Pepsi products will be available for $1.00 at the concession stand. Friday’s match is sponsored by Happy Day.

On Saturday, LC Athletics will host Warrior Zone Night. Fans are encouraged to wear red, and students can join the Warrior Zone and pick up their shirts prior to the match, courtesy of sponsors Idaho Central Credit Union and Southway Pizzeria.
