WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Warrior women open Cascade Conference play on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. against the Walla Walla University Wolves in Lewiston. The No. 17 LC State women last competed on Nov. 12 with a win against Montana Tech. Hannah Broyles led the scoring with 21 points and Maddie Holm posted her second double-double of the season with 17 points and 17 rebounds. Holm was voted CCC Player of the Week for her performance.
The Warriors (3-1) will take on the Wolves (1-2) in the first conference game of the year for both teams. The CCC travel partners last faced off on Feb. 8 with the Warriors taking the contest with a final score of 92-40. Callie Stevens led the scoring efforts with 26 points and went 6-for-8 from beyond the arc. Maddie Holm chipped in 14 points and brought down nine boards and Hannah Broyles had 13 points in the contest. LC State is 9-0 against Walla Walla dating back to 2010.
The WAA will host its annual High School Awards on Tuesday with the winners of Female Athlete of the Year, Coach of the Year and the Rick Hill Meritorious Award being announced at halftime of the LC State Women’s Basketball game.
