WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The No. 17 LC State women have won four straight contests, including a 70-61 defeat of Walla Walla University last week to open Cascade Conference play. CCC action continues this weekend in Washington with matchups at Northwest and Evergreen State.
The Warriors edged Northwest 62-61 in the final meeting of the 2021-22 season in January. Callie Stevens led LC with 18 points and Sara Muehlhausen added 10. LC State is 2-0 against Northwest since joining the CCC.
LC also edged the Geoducks in the most recent meeting, taking the contest in Olympia 57-55. Muehlhausen set a single-game record with eight blocked shots in the tilt and Stevens led the scoring efforts with 24 points. Hannah Broyles scored 14 points and Muehlhausen brought down 12 rebounds. The Warriors are 3-0 against TESC dating back to 2006.
Broyles is fifth in the NAIA in 3-pointers made per game (3.4). Muehlhausen is fourth in blocks per game (3.0). LC State is second in the NAIA in blocks per game (6.0).
