WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The No. 13 Warrior women are coming off a strong CCC weekend, including a massive 93-28 win over Northwest. Callie Stevens tallied a career-high 32 points and added another 17 in the Warriors’ victory over Evergreen State. LC State is 6-1 on the season and 3-0 in CCC play.
The Warriors will host No. 9 Carroll College in one of the most anticipated matchups of the season on Friday. The last time the former Frontier Conference foes faced off was in the 2021 NAIA Women’s Basketball Opening Round title game in Lewiston, with LC State upsetting then-No. 6 Carroll 76-67. Maddie Holm, a freshman at the time, led the team with 11 rebounds. The Warriors are 28-20 against the Fighting Saints dating back to 2004.
Friday’s game, sponsored by P1FCU, will feature the inaugural LC State Teddy Bear Toss. Ticket packages are on sale now at lcwarriors.com/tickets. More information on the event can be found HERE.
LC does not have long to rest and will wrap up the non-conference schedule on Saturday against NCAA Division III George Fox. The Warriors defeated the Bruins 73-45 last season in Newburg, Ore., with 18 points from Hannah Broyles and 16 from Stevens. Holm grabbed 12 rebounds and Sara Muehlhausen had five blocks.
The Warriors are 10th in the NAIA in blocked shots per game at 4.7. Broyles is 11th in 3-pointers made per game (3.1) and Muehlhausen is 12th in blocks per game (2.3).
