LC State Volleyball picked up a pair of victories in Portland over the weekend, highlighted by Kenzie Dean’s recording-setting defensive performance of 38 digs on Saturday. LC is currently sixth in the Cascade Conference standings with an overall record of 9-5, 5-4 in CCC action.
The Warriors will host RV Bushnell on Friday and No. 6 Corban on Saturday in the P1FCU Activity Center. LC is 4-4 against the Beacons of Bushnell dating back with 2010, but have dropped all four meetings since joining the CCC. Cassidy Nelson and Carli Berntson each tallied 12 kills in the four-set match last season. Bushnell sits third in the CCC standings.
LC State is 1-4 against a strong Corban team dating back to 2018. The LC Warriors have dropped the last four meetings to the Corban Warriors. Corban leads the CCC in hitting percentage (.239), assists per set (12.9) kills per set (14.2). Corban is second in the conference standings.
Nelson leads the CCC in service aces (32) and aces per set (0.59). The LC Warriors are second in opponent attack percentage (.130).
LC State will host Breast Cancer Awareness night on Saturday, Oct. 1, sponsored by Pepsi. The first 150 fans will receive a pink rally towel. Friday’s match is sponsored by P1FCU.
