CORVALLIS, Ore. – No. 17 Warrior Cross Country's Carter Gordon captured the first Cascade Conference weekly honors of the year for LC State after a strong showing at the NW Clash on Thursday.

Gordon stepped up to lead the LC State men at the first race of the 2022 season. The Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, native finished 13th overall (19:15.9) in the field of 71 to help the Warriors to a third-place finish as a team. He was the top non-NCAA Division I finisher behind runners from Gonzaga and Eastern Washington.

This is the first weekly honor for Gordon in his career.

Warrior Cross Country returns to action on Sept. 16 with a trip to Upland, Ind., for the Taylor Invitational.
