MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Warrior men hit the road this weekend for a tough set of games in Butte, Mont. LC State will take on Providence (Mont.) on Thursday before facing No. 6 Montana Tech on Friday.
LC took on No. 3 Arizona Christian in Lewiston on Saturday and, despite an 81-70 loss, saw a lot of positives. Between the battle with ACU and rout of Northwest Indian College, the Warrior newcomers made their presence known with big-time performances. Lorenzo Marsh led LC State against NWIC with 17 points before Quentin Raynor had a stellar night against the Firestorm with 24 points.
The Warriors open the weekend against the Argos on Thursday and are 34-11 against UP dating back to 2003. The two teams met in Butte last season and Providence came away with an 85-75 victory where Davian Brown scored 22 points. LC had taken the previous seven meetings.
Montana Tech won the last two meetings against LC State but the Warriors hold a 36-9 record over the Orediggers dating back to 2003. In last season’s meeting in Butte, Anthony Peoples Jr. led the Warriors with eight points in the loss.
