WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
No. 8 LC State Women’s Basketball improved to 3-0 in Cascade Conference play and 7-1 overall on Thursday with an 82-62 victory over Walla Walla in the final road contest of 2023. The LC State Warriors host the Corban Warriors on Friday before taking on the Bushnell Beacons on Saturday.
Lewis-Clark State is 9-1 against Corban dating back to 2004 and has not dropped a meeting since the 2004-05 season. The two Warrior teams faced off last season in the CCC tournament where LC won 91-48 behind 20 points from Maddie Holm. Callie Stevens scored 20 points in the regular-season meeting in Lewiston and Holm added 15. Corban enters the weekend 2-6 overall and 1-2 in CCC play with losses to Warner Pacific and Bushnell.

The LC Warriors are 7-0 against Bushnell dating back to 2009 and took the most recent meeting 62-58 in Lewiston. Holm led the team with 16 points. The Beacons lead the conference in field goal percentage defense (.349) and defeated Corban 53-48 last week behind 19 points and 15 rebounds from Libby Mathis. The Beacons enter the weekend 6-3 overall and 2-1 in CCC play with a loss to Warner Pacific.

Holm leads the CCC in rebounding (10.1), while Ellie Sander leads in 3-point field goal percentage (.419) and assist/turnover ratio (2.7). Sander is third in field goal percentage (.565) just behind Sitara Byrd (.588), and is also fourth in steals per games (2.5) while Byrd is fifth (2.4). Freshman Darian Herring is second in blocked shots per game (1.9).
LC State is the top CCC team in 3-point field goal percentage (.315), assists per game (18.9), steals per game (12.1) and assist/turnover ratio (1.3). The Warriors are one of two CCC teams that remain undefeated in conference play, along with Warner Pacific.
