KANSAS CITY, Mo. – LC State Cross Country will begin the 2024 season with both teams ranked in the top 20 of the NAIA, announced by the national office on Thursday, with the men at No. 13 and the women sitting at No. 14. Women's golf joins cross country in the preseason rankings at No. 20 ahead of its falls season.
The women of Warrior Cross Country placed 11
th at nationals last season. Track and field All-American
Grace Tiegs returns to lead the group, along with seniors
Abigail Shumaker and
Grace McCormick. The Warrior men, who placed 17
th at the 2023 national meet, return five runners from last year's national team and all five student-athletes that earned All-American status in the 4x800m relay in track and field.
LC State Women's Golf was picked to finish in a tie for second in the Cascade Conference preseason rankings and sits one spot ahead of the Owls in the NAIA preseason rankings.
