Warrior Weekly Preview - Oct. 13-19, 2025

GOLF

No. 19 LC State Men’s Golf and No. 25 women’s golf are at Timberstone Golf Club in Caldwell this week for the College of Idaho Classic Oct. 13-14. The tournament is part of Cascade Conference play and will count toward conference standings and scoring averages. 

The women will play one round each day with a lineup of Isabella Barquet, Jane Barry, Giulia Belfontali, Taylor Mire and Dallis Shockey. Chase Caruso will compete as an individual. Sondre Andresen, Andrea Artusini, Aaron Brown, Lucas Ortega and Luke West will represent the LC State men with Kye Krall as an individual through two rounds on Monday and one on Tuesday.

Andresen and Ortega are both in the top 10 in the CCC in scoring average heading into the second conference event of the year. The Warrior men are third as a team just behind Oregon Tech. Barry are Barquet are both in the top 10 on the women’s side with LC State third as a team. 

LC State last competed at Timberstone in 2022 where the men finished third. Andresen tied for fifth in the field at 7-over, 223. The Warrior women finished third as a team with then-freshman Shockey in 15th place with rounds of 81-79.

VOLLEYBALL

No. 14 LC State Volleyball enters another weekend of Cascade Conference play tied for second in the conference standings and will host a top-25 matchup in Lewiston this weekend. The Warriors defeated both Oregon Tech and (RV) Southern Oregon last weekend to improve to 12-3 overall and 9-3 in CCC play. LC State hosts No. 23 Northwest (Wash.) on Friday before taking on The Evergreen State College (Wash.) on Pink Night on Saturday. Friday’s match is sponsored by Idaho Central Credit Union and Saturday is sponsored by Rogers Motors. 

The Warriors start the weekend at home on Friday against the Eagles of Northwest (13-5, 7-5). LC State defeated NU in five sets in Kirkland earlier this season and is 8-6 since 2010. Juliauna Forgach Aguilar and Taylor Boyce combined for 48 kills in the match, Lindner put up nine blocks, Teagan Scott dished out 46 assists and Ella Stosich collected 24 digs.  

Northwest ranks third in the CCC in attack percentage (.212) and service aces per set (2.06). Kaitlyn Mickle is fourth in kills per set (3.42) and Chloe Kennedy is third in hitting percentage (.314). NU’s Ellie Van Berkum ranks fourth in digs per set (3.82), Aubree Dees is second in aces per set (0.53) and Morgan Harter is fourth in assists per set (7.33).

The Warriors will hold their annual Pink Night on Saturday against the Geoducks (1-15, 1-11).  Fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. LC State is 10-2 against Evergreen since 2014 and swept the Geoducks in Olympia earlier this season. Boyce led the contest with 16 kills and Scott dealt 32 assists. 

The Warriors are second as a team in digs per set (15.50) and third in blocks per set (2.21). Forgach Aguilar leads the CCC and is fifth in the NAIA in kills per set (4.41) and Scott is at the top of the conference in assists per set (8.85). Karissa Lindner ranks second in the CCC and seventh in the NAIA in blocks per set (1.35) and Stosich is third in the conference in digs per set (4.45).
