GOLF

LC State Golf hosts the Warrior Spring Classic at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club on Monday and Tuesday for the lone home event of the season. Action tees off at 8:30 a.m. The men will play two rounds on Monday and the women will play one, and both will play the final round on Tuesday.

Along with the Warriors, the field consists of men’s and women’s teams from Walla Walla (Wash.), College of Idaho, Montana Tech, North Idaho College and Spokane CC. The University of Victoria women will also compete in the tournament. 

LC State will send Alex Navarro, Luke West, Lucas Ortega, Oscar Behle and Owen Pearson out as its top five while Hunter Millsap, Sondre Andresen, Jaxon Moon and Kye Krall will compete as the Warriors’ B team. 

On the women’s side, the Warriors lineup includes Natalia Gomez, Giulia Belfontali, Jane Barry, Dallis Shockey and Isabella Barquet. Chase Caruso and Myah Parsons will play as individuals.

BASEBALL

The No. 20 LC State Baseball (15-8, 12-3) team wraps up its series with Eastern Oregon (8-17, 5-10) on Monday after Sunday’s doubleheader was postponed due to rain. The Warriors split Saturday’s twin bill with an 11-9 victory in game one and 11-9 loss in game two. Ike George is hitting .625 in the series and slugging 1.500 in the first two games. 

The Warriors continue the weekend with a four-game Cascade Conference series at home against Oregon Tech (18-9, 9-7) Mar. 29-30. LC State split last season’s regular-season series with OIT and defeated the Owls in the Cascade Conference tournament 10-2.

OIT’s Patrick Barry leads the CCC in batting average (.433). He leads in hits (45), while Julien Jones leads in runs scored (10) and Tyler Horner is at the top in RBI (33) and second in home runs (9) and slugging (.745).

LC State’s Ike George leads the conference in on-base percentage (.535) and is second in batting average (.408) and runs scored (34). Charlie Updegrave and Izzy Madariaga are tied for the CCC lead in doubles with 10. Jadon Williamson has the best ERA on the Cascade at 2.92 and leads in both opponent batting average (.206) and strikeouts (49). 

MEN'S TENNIS

The LC State Men’s Tennis team (9-10) wraps up its trip down south on Monday against No. 23 Mobile (Ala.) at 10 a.m. PT. The Warriors will look to add to their resume this season after defeating a pair of top 25 NAIA teams so far this season. LC State went 1-4 at the Xavier/Dillard Invitational with a win over No. 23 Loyola (La.).

The Warriors have not faced Mobile since 2021 and are 0-3 since 2019.

LC State will face NCAA Division III Whitman for the third time this season on Mar. 29 in Walla Walla. The Warriors defeated the Blues 7-0 and 5-2 this season and will look to make it three in a row against Whitman and are 4-0 against DIII opponents this season.

WOMEN'S TENNIS

LC State Women’s Tennis wraps up the trip down south on Monday against Mobile (Ala.) in Alabama. The Warriors are 1-2 against Mobile since 2010 but fell in the two most recent meetings. 

The Warrior women faced four top 10 NAIA teams at the Xavier/Dillard Invitational and went 0-4 over the weekend. The Rams are 5-5 heading into the match while LC State is 6-12.
