LC State Baseball is at home again this weekend after a four-game sweep of Warner Pacific (Ore.) to improve to 20-5 in Cascade Conference play. The Warriors host College of Idaho this weekend for another four-game CCC set scheduled for Apr. 11-13.
The Warriors won the three-game rain-shortened series against the Yotes in Caldwell earlier this season 2-1. LC State is 99-17 against C of I since 2009. Charlie Updegrave has a monster series in Caldwell and went 7-for-7 in his first seven at-bats. The senior accomplished another milestone over the weekend with the 40th home run of his career to tie for the lead in the CCC record book.
LC State leads the conference in slugging (.543), on-base percentage (.435), RBI (300), doubles (94) and home runs (58). Individually, Ike George leads the CCC in batting average (.424) and Updegrave in second (.407). Updegrave leads in slugging (.814), hits (59), RBI (52), doubles (14), home runs (15) and total bases (118), while George leads in on-base percentage (.536), runs scored (51) and stolen bases without being caught (15-for-15).
On the mound, The Warriors’ Jadon Williamson leads the Cascade in ERA (1.93), opposing batting average (.194), strikeouts (59) and wins (5).
The Yotes are second in the conference in stolen bases (89) and lead the CCC in strikeouts 307. Oliver Massie is third in strikeouts (52) and leads in games started with 10.
