Warrior Volleyball, currently receiving votes in the national poll, opened the season with a thrilling three set sweep of MSU-Northern on Aug. 15 to start the 2025 season 1-0. LC State will continue its homestand this weekend. The Warriors will host the Hells Canyon Grand Invitational where they will take on Arizona Christian on Friday at 6 p.m. and No. 11 Montana Western (1-3) on Saturday at 2 p.m. Walla Walla (Wash.) will participate in the tournament as well for a total of five matches hosted in the P1FCU Activity Center over the weekend. The Warriors currently stand 1-1 against Arizona Christian since 2021. They last faced the Firestorm in 2023 in the OUAZ Invitational when ACU took the match in four sets. Juliauna Forgach-Aguilar led the Warriors with 12 kills.
The Firestorm is off to a hot start in 2025 that includes a four-set upset of No. 6 Southern Oregon. ACU also defeated fellow Cascade Conference team Oregon Tech 3-2 but fell to Bushnell (Ore.) 3-0.
LC State is 20-3 against Montana Western since 2010, but 0-2 since the Warriors left the Frontier Conference. Those two matchups were played in 2023 where the Warriors fell in four sets in the P1FCU Activity Center and then again in three sets at the OUAZ Invitational. Forgach-Aguilar led the team in both matches with a combined total of 32 kills and five aces.
The Bulldogs are coming off a tough road trip where they went 1-3. UMW defeated Saint Francis (Ind.) 3-0 but fell in straight sets to IU East (Ind.), Taylor (Ind.) and Keiser (Fla.).
