Warrior Weekly Preview - Sept. 15-21, 2025

GOLF

The Warriors open the week in Iowa at the Northwest Iowa National Invitational in Le Mars, Iowa, on Monday. Both the No. 19 men and No. 25 women will play 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday. 

Both teams teed off at 6:30 a.m. on Monday. The men have Lucas Ortega, Sondre Andresen, Luke West, Adam Lovatt and Aaron Brown on the course, and the women are represented by Jane Barry, Isabella Barquet, Giulia Belfontali, Chase Caruso and Dallis Shockey. 

The tournament field features some of the best teams in the NAIA at Willow Creek Golf Course.

VOLLEYBALL

LC State Volleyball, receiving votes in the national poll, takes its unbeaten record into another week of Cascade Conference play when it takes on The Evergreen State College (Wash.) (0-8, 0-4) and Northwest University (Wash.) (7-3, 1-3) on the road. The Warriors defeated both Walla Walla (Wash.) and Warner Pacific (Ore.) last week to improve to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in CCC play. 

The Warriors open the trip on Friday at Evergreen. LC State is 9-2 against the Geoducks since 2014 and has swept the last four meetings. Taylor Boyce had 18 kills at a .533 clip and Esther Kailiponi had 25 assists last time in Olympia.

LC State holds a 7-6 edge against Northwest since 2010 and split with the Eagles last season, both in five sets. The Warriors won in Kirkland behind 22 kills by Juliauna Forgach Aguilar and three aces by Makenzie Stout. NU’s Chloe Kennedy is third in the CCC in attack percentage (.365) and Aubree Dees is third in aces per set (0.56).

The Warriors are second in the CCC in blocks per set (2.42) and third in service aces per set (2.08). Forgach Aguilar is second in the conference in kills per set (4.85) and Karissa Lindner is second in blocks per set (1.60). Teagan Scott ranks second in the CCC in assists per set (8.64) and Ella Stosich is fourth in digs per set (3.92).
