CORVALLIS, Ore. – Three LC State student-athletes earned weekly honors from their respective conferences on Monday. Isabella Barquet was voted the Cascade Conference McDonald's Women’s Golfer of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, and Gautam Balakrishnan and Gwyn Heim were named the GSAC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Players of the Week, presented by Athletic Solutions.

GAUTAM BALAKRISHNAN – MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Balakrishnan did nothing but win against NCAA Division I opponents over the weekend. The sophomore helped LC State earn the doubles point against DI Sacramento State with a 6-2 win in No. 3 doubles, then clinched the match for the Warriors with a 7-6(7), 6-3 win in No. 5 singles. Balakrishnan went on to defeat his opponent from Idaho State 6-3, 6-2 in singles action. The team’s win over Sac State was the first over a DI opponent since 2003.

This is the first weekly honor of Balakrishnan’s career.

GWYN HEIM – WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Heim earned two doubles and two singles victories on Sunday to help LC State defeat College of Idaho and Whitworth on the road. The junior was dominant at No. 3 singles and did not drop more than three games in her matches.

This is the first weekly honor of Heim’s career.

ISABELLA BARQUET – WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Barquet was the top NAIA finisher at the Willamette Valley Cup with a third-place finish. She shot 4-over in the first round and 6-over in the second to finish 10-over at the DIII tournament. Barquet helped the Warrior women finish second as a team with the lowest team round of the tournament (308) on Sunday.

This is the first weekly honor for Barquet this season and third of her career.
