CORVALLIS, Ore. – LC State earned a pair of Cascade Conference McDonald's Player of the Week honors, presented by Urban Edge Network. Brandon Nguyen was voted the Baseball Player of the Week and Kobe Wessels was named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.

BRANDON NGUYEN – BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Nguyen hit .545 and slugged 1.455 in a rain-adjusted series against Eastern Oregon. The junior went 6-for-11 with three home runs and a double in two games and drove in a team-best seven runs. Nguyen scored two runs in each of his three-hit games.

This is the first weekly honor of Nguyen’s career.

KOBE WESSELS – MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Wessels ran the fourth-best 1500m race in program history at the Jeff Rahn Classic in Spokane over the weekend. The senior from Lewiston clocked a time of 3:52.71 to finish 11th at the meet and holds one of the top three times in the CCC this season.

This is the third weekly honor for Wessels this season, his second in track, and third of his career.
