KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Isabella Barquet earned the first victory of her collegiate career and stood out in a stacked field at the Oregon Tech Fall Invitational on Tuesday. The senior was the lone golfer to finish under par as the No. 16 Warrior Women's Golf team placed second overall at the Running Y Ranch Resort. The Warriors' final round of 292 tied the program record for a single round.
LC State shot 20-over as a team to edge No. 19 Oregon Tech by four strokes. The Warriors were just 4-over on the day. No. 4 British Columbia took home the team title with a score of 3-over.
"What a day for the women," coach
Zach Anderson said. "Tied the school record and Isa (Barquet) got the win for her first collegiate title. Freshman
Kamryn Mansfield had a stellar round to finish in the top 10 in her first collegiate event. Giulia (Belfontali) had a solid final round. Isa is playing probably the best golf I've seen her play in her LC State career. Lots to build on after this finish. Great start."
Barquet used a round of 3-under-par to climb two spots up the leaderboard and earned medalist honors. Her six birdies in her final 18 holes had her at 1-under for the tournament.
Freshman
Kamryn Mansfield and junior
Giulia Belfontali each earned a spot in the top 10. Both shot even-par through the final 18 holes as Mansfield finished ninth in her first collegiate event and Belfontali tied for 10
