LC State Cheer and Dance are two different teams that represent one program. Both teams participate in community events, sidelines and performances that include dancing, stunting, tumbling and cheering. Warrior Dance is entering its third competitive season and travels around the country to participate in multiple NAIA competitions. Warrior Cheer is a new sport as of 2024 and will be competitive with the NAIA in the 2026-27 season. LC State Cheer and Dance are looking for athletes who are committed, energetic, talented and eager to help this program grow!
The NAIA is unique because it is the only governing athletic body that sponsors and recognizes cheer and dance as competitive sports. You get all of the perks that any other student-athlete gets! That is something you will not find at other collegiate levels. Warrior Dance competes against other NAIA teams in a variety of different places including Idaho, Montana, Nebraska and California.
Our Warrior dancers and cheerleaders are determined athletes and represent LC State in numerous ways. First, as a competitive sport, Warrior Dance sets the standard for the college on competitive floor. We are talented, hard-working and excited to show what it means to be a Warrior! LC State Cheer is working hard to set the standard and build the foundation of a strong cheerleading program in order to dive into the competitive world. Second, both programs embody “The Warrior Way” on the sidelines by elevating pride and spirit for our other athletic programs. We promote competitiveness, discipline and commitment while also holding true to our roots by fostering a strong sense of community, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and honoring tradition.
Our coaching staff is looking for athletes who are committed, driven and confident. LC State dancers and cheerleaders are ambassadors of the college who must embody what it means to be a Warrior. We are not only looking for talented athletes, but also those who excel in the classroom. Having strong time management abilities is an extremely important attribute to have as a student athlete.
LC State is a recruitment-based program and operates using a Common Recruitment Video. If you are interested in our program, follow the recruitment guidelines and email your video to Head Coach Sydnee Vial by January 1, 2026.
At LC State, you can find small class sizes, one-on-one interaction with your professors, feel the connection of a tight-knit community and be able to take your cheer and dance experience to collegiate level. LC State has a strong foundation in both academics and athletics, which contribute to the development of the cheer and dance programs.
Scholarships are offered with certain criteria considered and are determined by the head coach. We also offer out-of-state tuition waivers for our out-of-state recruits.
All team members will have a team fee of $500 that can be fundraised throughout the summer. All team members report to campus mid-August to attend fall camp. We look forward to meeting you. Go Warriors!
