Cyrus Hall

Cyrus Hall enters his 17th year as a collegiate track and field coach, and his eighth season as Head Assistant Cross Country/Track and Field Coach at LC State in 2022-23. Hall is primarily responsible for sprints, hurdles, horizontal jumps, high jump and combined events student-athletes. He is also in charge of the recruiting efforts in those event disciplines. He assists Head Coach Mike Collins in day-to-day operations and handles academic support for the Warrior Cross Country/Track & Field team.

Since Hall arrived in 2014, the Warriors have broken numerous school records. In the spring of 2019, the Warrior men were honored by the NAIA as the team with the second-best GPA (3.43) in men’s indoor & outdoor track and field. The Warrior women were also honored as the team with the sixth-best GPA (3.62) for indoor track and field, and seventh-best GPA (3.62) for outdoor track and field. Hall has coached 30 All-American’s and one National Champion since arriving at LC State in 2014.

Prior to coming to LC State, Hall spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Emporia State University, an NCAA Division II program in Emporia, Kan. He served as a graduated assistant in charge of horizontal jumps, but assisted with multi’s and sprints and spent a season with the cross country program.

While at ESU, Hall mentored 11 National Qualifiers and eight All-Americans. Among those were Payson Maydew, who finished third in the nation in the men’s decathlon in 2014, and Carmen King, who placed third in the women’s long jump in 2014.

Hall also made stop at Pratt CC as the head coach for men’s and women’s cross country/track and field from 2007-2012. Hall got his start at alma mater Sterling College as a volunteer assistant from 2006-2007.

As a student-athlete, Hall ran both cross country and track and field at Neosho County Community College and at Sterling College where he transferred to finish his career. Hall holds an Associate of Art from Neosho County Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Sterling College, and a Master’s degree in Health, Education, and Recreation from Emporia State. Coach Hall is also USATF Level 1 certified, and USTFCCCA Technical Event Certified.

Hall is a native of Eudora, Kan. He is an avid college football and basketball fan. His hobbies include camping, hiking, biking, and playing golf.
