Taryn Cadez-Schmidt

Taryn Cadez-Schmidt has been the athletic department's assistant athletic trainer since 2015, evaluating and treating the injuries of all athletes at LCSC. Not only regular seasons, Cadez-Schmidt has managed game and event coverage such as the NAIA Opening Round Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments and Avista NAIA World Series. Currently she sits in her first year as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Idaho Athletic Trainers’ Association while co-chair for Public Relations for the IATA. In 2024 she received her Medical Therapeutic Yoga certification allowing for a more well-rounded biopsychosocial clinical approach to healthcare.

Cadez-Schmidt is originally from Colorado, where she received her bachelors’ degree at Colorado Mesa University, in 2010. Following graduation, she received a graduate assistant position at the University of New Mexico as the athletic trainer for the cross country/track and field program for three years and graduated with a Master's degree in 2013.

Cadez-Schmidt is currently involved with the Washington State and University of Idaho Preceptor programs, overseeing athletic training students including the management of evaluations, rehabilitation programs and organization of competitions in all LC State hosted games.

Family time with three kids and a small family farm keeps her busy outside of the athletic training room.
