LEWISTON, Idaho – Trystan Bradley and
Blair Moore had 18 points each as Lewis-Clark State College's men's basketball team raced past Salish-Kootenai 111-55 in non-conference basketball at the Activity Center Sunday afternoon.
In addition to Bradley's and Moore's totals, five other Warriors – Darius Alexander (17), Andre McCowan (13), Damek Mitchell (12),
Race Martin (11) and
Derrick White (10), reached double figures as LC improved to 12-1 on the season.
"Those guys did a great job tonight," coach
Brandon Rinta said of Bradley and Moore. "Our guys were looking for them inside at the rim and they did a good job of finishing."
The Warriors also out-rebounded the Bison – 49-26, and forced 20 turnovers. Every player had at least two rebounds with Cordel Hankerson the leader with eight. Martin added seven.
They shot a sizzling 65.3 percent for the game with assists on 34 of their 49 field goals – a number Rinta particularly likes to see. Mitchell had eight and Hankerson had seven.
"At the end of the day," Rinta said, "we just wanted to make sure that we do what we do and we play the way we play but continue to do it better. Playing hard. Sprinting the floor. Being in the passing lanes. Playing unselfishly. Valuing the basketball.
"The staples of what we do are not going to change. We just have to get better each night out."
The Warriors play Salish-Kootenai again Monday night (7:30 tipoff at the Activity Center). They have a break for the holidays before returning to action Dec. 30 against the Spokane Club – a time comprised of former collegians.
