LEWISTON, Idaho – Playing in their first home match of the season, the LCSC men's tennis team found out the confines of the LC Tennis Center were much friendlier than the road as they defeated Whitworth 8-1 on Saturday morning for their first win of the season.
 
The win now gives the Warriors a 1-3 record and drops the Pirates to 0-2.
 
LCSC swept doubles competition. Yonas Woldetsodik and Jeff Su combined to win No. 1 Doubles 8-1. Iganacio Salom and Roberto Salazar were next with an 8-4 result. No. 3 Doubles was a little tighter but Anthony Croteau and Daniel de Lorenzo defeated Ian Fisher and Jeff Vulis 8-6.
 
The Warriors took care of singles play as well with all but one match going LC's way. Roberto Salazar fell in No. 4 Singles but took Fisher to three sets in a closely contested battle. All other matches went straight sets.
 
LCSC will host Seatlle University and Idaho State in the next set of matches. The Warriors face the Redhawks on Feb. 18.
