TEMPE, Ariz. – Warrior Tennis was rewarded for its hard work in the classroom with 14 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete nods and both teams earned All-Academic Team honors for the 2025-26 school year.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the current academic year. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above.
"It is very nice to have all sorts of opportunities for the student-athletes to garner individual academic awards," coach Kai Fong said. "Many of the awardees also hold down part-time jobs which make it even more impressive to have better than average grades while competing in an intercollegiate sport. It is still always a 'wow' factor when the list comes out, it never gets old.
"This past season, we had great accolades in all aspects of the programs: academic, athletic and citizenship," Fong added. "Kudos to both teams for perpetuating the tradition of Warrior excellence."
LC State Women's Tennis finished the school year with a 3.60 team GPA, and on the men's side the team earned a GPA of 3.49.
