No. 10 LC State Rolls Past Yellowstone Christian

LEWISTON, Idaho - The No. 10 Lewis-Clark State Warriors picked up a high-scoring non-conference win on Friday night to open a two-game series against the Yellowstone Christian College Centurions. The Warriors allowed only 18 points in the first half to hold a 53-18 advantage at halftime.

"Unselfish basketball. We moved the ball well. Blair had a great game finishing inside," Head Coach Austin Johnson said. "The challenge tomorrow is to come back in less than 24 hours and do the same thing."

Andre McCowan led LC with 12 points in the first half. He was 4-for-4 from the field as well as a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. A 10-point run capped by free throws by McCowan had the Warriors in front 35-7 with 8:31 to play.

Trystan Bradley grabbed an offensive rebound and went up to score the second chance basket at 9:57 to spark a 24-point run that spanned seven minutes. A dunk from Bradley finished the rally to put LC up 105-37 with just over two to play. Damek Mitchell hit a three with under a minute to play to give the Warriors their largest lead at 112-42 and this is how the contest would end.

Blair Moore led the scoring efforts with 14 points (7-for-8) while Race Martin had a perfect night, shooting 5-for-5 from the field including 3-for-3 from 3-point territory to tally 13 points. He finished the night tied with Dana Abe with 13 points each. McCowan was nearly perfect, finishing the night 4-for-5 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free throw line to drop 12 points.

McCowan led the defense with seven boards and Mitchell dished eight assists. Cory Dollarhide tallied six steals to go with 11 points scored.

"It was really good to get Cory Dollarhide back out on the floor," Johnson said. "Some of the things he does for us, not just offensively, but defensively he gives us a lot more depth."

The Warriors face the same opponent tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Activity Center.
