KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time this season, the Lewis-Clark State Women's Basketball Team has made their way into the NAIA DI Top 25. After two big wins over ranked teams on the road, the Warriors earned their spot on the list at No. 16.
LC took down GSAC giants in No. 21 The Master's and No. 15 Westmont at the Westmont Holiday Classic to improve to 11-2 on the season. They face a tough stretch as they enter Frontier Conference play this weekend, beginning with No. 13 Providence on Friday.
"I think that we are better than our ranking, but there is still a lot of basketball left to play," Head Coach
Brian Orr said. "We have a tough conference schedule ahead so we still have a lot left to prove."
As a team, the Warriors currently rank fifth in NAIA DI in total assists (243).
Abbie Johnson is fifth in the nation in free throw percentage (.917) and
Jossilyn Blackman is eighth in field goal percentage (.570).
The Warriors hit the road this weekend when they take on Providence on Friday at 4:30 p.m. PST, followed by MSU-Northern on Saturday at 5 p.m. PST.
