LEWISTON, Idaho – Tatyana Carlson, who will graduate from Albert M. Lowry High School (Nevada), will join the Lewis-Clark State women's golf team this fall after winning the Nevada State Championship for her Winnemucca-based school.
 
"Tatyana is a big addition for the fall," Warrior coach Kyla Lien said. "She was a consistent player during her high school seasons, especially this last one with an average in the 70s.
 
"She comes from a great background and is a hard worker. She is very excited to join the team and we are excited to have her on the team!"
 
Carlson was a state placer throughout her high school career. As a freshman, she was 10^th with a sixth as a sophomore, fourth as a junior, and then the title as a senior. The last time a player from a northern Nevada high school won the state title was 15 years ago. She was the league's co-MVP as a junior and the MVP as a senior. Her high school career included two eagles – one that gave her a two-stroke lead in the state tournament and the other when she chipped in during a regular-season event.
 
She also helped lead the Buckaroos to two state team titles (freshman and senior) and two state runner-up finishes (sophomore and junior). The Buckaroos also tied for first in the Academic All-State competition.
 
During summers, she played for the Northern Nevada Junior Golf Association. She won the Washoe Tournament, which enabled her to compete at the Junior Optimist Tournament against 135 other players.
