NEW ORLEANS, La. – Lewis-Clark State College's tennis teams ran into some of the NAIA elite Thursday and the result was a pair of 7-0 losses to Xavier of New Orleans.
"We got a taste of a top-10 NAIA team today," coach
Kai Fong said. "Playing tougher matches with a good perspective will always benefit us."
Jackson Lee had one of the better outings for the Warrior men with both his singles and doubles competitions going to tiebreaks. At No. 4 singles, he lost the first set 6-4 before coming back to win the second 7-5 before falling in the tiebreak. He teamed with
Luca Menezes to take No. 1 doubles 7-6, but did not earn a point per DI rules.
The women's team is ranked No. 3 in the NAIA, while the men are No. 7.
