WHITEFISH, Mont. – With the first meet of the season under their belts, Lewis-Clark State cross country juniors Emily Adams and Clayton VanDyke were name the Frontier Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week.
At the Northwest Clash hosted by NCAA DI Eastern Washington, Adams finished 10th overall out of 79 runners in the 4k with a personal-best time of 14:44. Her time was 11 seconds faster than a year ago at the same distance.
VanDyke led the Warriors in his first race for LC State with a time of 18:11 in the 6k. He was the top non-Division I runner in the field, finishing 12th. The Warriors finished fourth overall and defeated both Montana and Eastern Washington.
The Warriors are back in action on Sept. 13 at the Frontier Conference Preview in Billings, Mont.
