No. 13 Men’s Basketball Closes Out Non-Conference Slate with Win Over NWIC

LEWISTON, Idaho – The No. 13 Lewis-Clark State Men's Basketball team will take a 13-1 record into Frontier Conference play after a 111-56 victory over the Northwest Indian College Eagles. For the second-straight day, the Warrior offense surpassed the century mark, this time led by Hodges Bailey with 22 points.

"Credit to them," Bailey said. "They came out and battled. They play hard, always. There is a difference in talent levels, but we had to come out and play hard. They weren't going to hand it to us – no one is. The lesson we can learn is that we need to bring it every night."

Similar to Saturday, Trystan Bradley was fed the opening bucket and LC State took off from there. An 11-0 run got the engines running for the Warriors and LC led by 27 midway through the first half at 35-8. Bob Boyd collected the final points of the period with a basket and foul shot to send the Warriors into the locker room with a 54-24 advantage.

Bradley again found the basket to open the second frame of play and sparked a run of seven. The Warriors maintained a lead of no less than 33, and Boyd gave LC its largest lead at 58 points to make it 109-51 with two minutes to play.

Bailey led LC with 22 points, and Travis Yenor notched a double-double with a career-high 21 points and 13 rebounds. Conner Moffatt added 17 points and Boyd totaled 14. Damek Mitchell continued to climb the all-time list for career assists and now sits third with 354. His 13 assists tonight are a career-high and put him 12 off of the second spot.

The Warriors jump back into Frontier Conference play next week when they travel to Dillon, Mont., to face Montana Western.
