Warriors Break Top Three

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Lewis-Clark State Men's Basketball made the jump into the nation's top three on Wednesday, tying the program's highest ranking at No. 3 for the first time since 2016. The Warriors (25-1, 13-1) picked up one first-place vote and have won 16 games straight.
 
LC State is the top team in NAIA DI in 3-point field goal percent defense (.297), and 3-point field goal percentage (.438). They are second in NAIA DI in assist/turnover ratio (1.58), scoring margin (25.42) and scoring defense per game (63.19). The Warriors are also in the nation's top five in six other categories.
 
Josiah Westbrook is second in NAIA DI in 3-point field goal percentage (.525), and Damek Mitchell is sixth (.492). Mitchell is fourth in NAIA DI in total assists (177). Last season he set the single-season record with 193. He is fourth in the nation in assists per game averaging 7.08. With 965 points in his career, he is 35 points away from joining the 1,000-Point Club.
 
The Warriors have four regular-season games remaining, with three on the road and one at home. They will host Senior Night game on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. against Carroll.
