LEWISTON, Idaho – Jamie Nielson, the lone senior on the No. 21 Lewis-Clark State Women's Basketball team, has had a big week. The Smithfield, Utah native was named the Frontier Conference Player of the Week after dropping a career-high 35 points last Thursday and will celebrate Senior Night in her final regular-season home game on Saturday. The Kinesiology major can add another milestone to her week after being voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team on Thursday.

Nielson carries a 4.00 grade-point average while also interning on campus and starting for the Warriors. She leads the Warriors in 3-pointers made this season (41) and 3-point percentage (.369). Nielson has tallied 278 point (11.6 per game) and 38 assists so far this season.

"I'd like to thank my coaches for all that they do for us to be successful, not only on the court but also in the classroom," Nielson said. "I want to give a big thank you to my professors; they are amazing and have been so supportive of me and accommodating with our tough travel schedule every season."

The Warriors battle in Butte, Mont. tonight at 4:30 p.m. PT against Montana Tech. They return home Saturday for the last home game of the regular season. Tip off against No. 16 Carroll is set for 5:30 p.m. in the Activity Center.

The 2019-20 Academic All-District Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the court and in the classroom. All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot.
