LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State Tennis wrapped up a strong weekend in the Tennis Center with a pair of wins on Sunday. The Warrior women started the day with a 6-1 victory against the College of Idaho, and the No. 25 men took down NCAA DIII Whitworth to come away with their first win of 2020.
"This was another good weekend of matches for us," coach Kai Fong said. "We battled well against both teams. I am so pleased to see the focus and the effort which accompanied the focus. Many three-setters went our way."

The Warriors hosted the Yotes in their lone NAIA home match of the season. After picking up the doubles point, LC State took five of the six singles matches.
Kyla Collier and Laura Rosselli got the morning started with a victory at No. 2 doubles (6-2), and Laura Diaz and Begona Andres followed up with a 7-5 win in the top doubles spot to clinch the doubles point for LC State.
In singles play, Alexis Maison picked up the first singles point with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4. Rosselli finished next, taking No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-0, before both Diaz and Andres picked up wins in the second and first slot, respectively. Sophie Uhlenkott made quick work of her opponent in No. 6 singles, dropping just one game to earn a 6-1, 6-0 victory.

LCSC Men def. Whitworth 6-1
After falling behind in doubles, LC State Men's Tennis rallied to take all six singles matches to come away with their first win of the season.
Luca Menezes and William Bruchard pick up a strong 6-2 victory in No. 1 doubles, but the Pirates took the second and third matches to earn the point.
The top three singles matches all went to three sets. In No. 3 singles, Larry Magalasin battled back from the brink of defeat to take down his opponent by a score of 3-6, 7-6, 7-5. Menezes also battled back after dropping his first set in No. 2 singles, dominating the second two sets (3-6, 6-1, 6-0).
Bruchard picked up a 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 victory in the top slot and Gunnar Harlan made quick work of his No. 4 opponent with a final of 6-3, 6-0. Roberto Salazar took fifth singles 6-3, 6-3, and Vannasak Chheang won in the sixth spot 6-3, 6-1.
"It's exciting to get the season going and play in my first college matches," freshman Harlan said. "We played well today."
The Warrior men host NCAA DIII George Fox on Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. in the Tennis Center.
