Box Score MESA, Arizona – The No. 7 Lewis-Clark State Men's Basketball team opened its Arizona trip with an 83-56 victory over Benedictine Mesa. It was the program's first contest against a team from the 48th state. Trystan Bradley, coming off a 27-point game against William Jessup, scored a career-high 30 points, including five 3-pointers. A box score with complete stats from the game will be available on Thursday.
"Our guys did a good job out of the gates moving the basketball and playing to our identity," Head Coach Austin Johnson said. "Trystan was hot early from 3, but also did a great job of getting in position inside and finishing."
In the first half, Hodges Bailey and Damek Mitchell both had three 3-pointers for nine points each. Bradley tallied 20 points, including four triples.
Bradley finished the game with 30 points, a career-best, and nine rebounds. Bailey tallied 12 points, Mitchell scored 11 with five boards and five assists, and Khalil Stevenson added 10 points and three rebounds.
As a team, the Warriors hit 14 3-pointers and dished out 17 assists to move to 8-0 on the season.
"We are at our best when the ball is moving and we had some really good stretches with that," Johnson explained. "I was also pleased with our defensive communication and our ability to defend them as a team. We will rest, regroup and get ready for another really tough stretch of games."
The Warriors take a day off before facing No. 5 Arizona Christian on back-to-back days. The battle of two of the nation's best begins on Friday at 2 p.m. PT.
