MARION, Ind. - The LC State Warrior Tennis teams continued their Indiana road trip on Friday by taking on the University of Northwestern Ohio. UNOH, ranked No. 20 on the men's side, proved to be tough competition for the Warriors. The men dropped their match 5-2, while the women fell 6-1. The Warriors faced an even tougher challenge in the afternoon matches against Indiana Wesleyan. Ranked No. 8 on the men's side and No. 4 on the women's, LC State struggled against the top-10 powerhouse. The Warrior women fell 7-0, while the men dropped their match 5-2.

LC State vs. Northwestern Ohio

Highlights from the doubles portion included Laura Diaz and Sophie Uhlenkott downing the No. 2 doubles squad from UNOH by a score of 6-2. On the men's side, Itaru Kikuchi and William Bruchard defeated the top doubles squad from UNOH by a score of 6-3.

In singles competition, Kyla Collier team picked up an impressive 6-0, 6-0 sweep over her adversary in fifth singles. Andre Du Plessis picked up a win by outlasting his No. 4 singles opponent after three sets 6-3, 3-6, 10-7.

LC State vs. Indiana Wesleyan

Bruchard and Kikuchi picked up the lone doubles win for LC State with a 6-3 victory in the top spot. With IWU taking the other two, the Warriors began singles play down 1-0. The Warrior women fell in all three doubles matches.

Kikuchi (No. 2 singles) and Du Plessis (No. 4 singles) picked up the lone singles victories for LC State against Indiana Wesleyan. Each battled through three sets, with Kikuchi defeating his opponent 6-3, 3-6, 10-7, and Du Plessis getting the job done with a final of 6-2, 5-7, 10-6. Emily Schelbert pushed her No. 6 singles match to three set before falling (6-1, 6-7 (4), 10-4).
