RESULTS
SPOKANE, Wash. – LC Track and Field was back in action on Friday at the H.I.R. Invitational, hosted by Whitworth. The Warriors once again had many standout performances and continue to showcase the talent of this year's team. Three more school records were broken in Spokane; one by senior pole vaulter
Madi Carson, one by triple jumper
Chelsie Testa and the other by the women's 4x100m relay team of
Nikki Halbert,
Rebekka Kalmbach,
Karlie Smith and
Anika Grogan. They, along with other Warriors, hit national and conference qualifying standards at the meet.
Â
"Our athletes have been stepping up, but I really need to give a shout out to our coaches," Head Coach
Mike Collins said. "Coaches
Cyrus Hall,
Jacob Whittaker and
Matthew Kelley have been doing an amazing job getting these kids prepared. With cross country going on at the same time as track, I have had to depend even more on them to be sure kids are prepared and they have done an amazing job. A good team is truly a good team, from the athletes, to the coaches, to our athletic trainers and our administrative staff to help make it all work. We are all in it together and the success of the kids is what we see, but I have a lot of people to thank for our success already this year."
Â
"Today was an interesting meet, with it being our third meet in a row on short weeks of training, and you could tell it was catching up to some people," Hall said. "That being said, we still had some great performances. Both of our women's relay teams were awesome. 4x100m with a new school record and missed the B standard by 0.22 seconds. The 4x400m got the B standard, just barely missing the A."
Â

Â
The 4x100m relay team of Halbert, Kalmbach, Smith and Grogan ran a time of 48.54 to place second and set a school record. With the performance, a national-qualifying standard looks promising for them as well before the end of the season.
