ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA TEAM
LEWISTON, Idaho –
Hodges Bailey earned the distinct honor of being voted the first CoSIDA Academic All-American in LC State Men's Basketball history. The College Sports Information Directors of American released the first and a second teams on Tuesday, and the Warrior senior earned a spot on the Academic All-America First Team.
"I'm so happy for Hodges to earn the ultimate recognition from CoSIDA as a student-athlete," Head Coach
Austin Johnson said. "He has been phenomenal in the classroom throughout his college career. His ability to balance his school work with being a high-level player is a great lesson of what one can accomplish when you are driven and disciplined in all areas of life. Hodges' commitment to academics and basketball is a great example of what our program is about and the type of people we have in our program here at LC."
Bailey, a native of Centrailia, Wash., graduated with a 3.96 GPA and a degree in Business Administration. He was the most dangerous Warrior from behind the 3-point line this season with a team-leading .487 3-point field goal percentage. The mark ranked 21
st in the NAIA and is the seventh-best in program history. Bailey was voted First-Team All-Cascade Conference, the Cascade Conference Defender of the Year and was named to the NAIA All-National Tournament Team.
At the national tournament, Bailey helped LC State to its first-ever appearance in a national title game. He led all players in 3-pointers made with 13. He shot .542 from behind the arc in the four games.
The Warriors finished the season with the highest winning percentage in program history (.917), besting the mark set the previous season (.906).
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA. The award considers an athlete's performance in their sport, as well as in the classroom.
