CORVALLIS, Ore. – LC State right-handed pitcher Eric Chavarria was voted Cascade Conference WVT Laboratory Pitcher of the Week for his performance on the mound against No. 16 Hope International on Saturday.
 
Chavarria earned his first win of the season in the Warriors' 5-4 victory on the road over HIU. The senior from Long Beach, Calif., tossed a solid seven innings and fanned six. He allowed one earned run and walked only one before handing the game over to the bullpen.
 
This is his second Pitcher of the Week honor in his career.
 
LC State is in Arizona this week taking on No. 23 Benedictine Mesa and Arizona Christian before returning to Lewiston to face Whitman on Sunday in the home opener in a doubleheader starting at noon.
