LEWISTON, Idaho – LC State Men's Tennis took both of its matches 7-0 Sunday against NCAA Division III Whitworth. The Warrior men boosted their record to 3-5 on the season, and capped a perfect 10-0 weekend for Warrior Athletics at home.
 
MATCH ONE: LC State def. Whitworth 7-0
LC won all three of its doubles matches, securing the doubles point. The top doubles pairing of William Bruchard and Austin Swing netted a 6-4 victory over the Pirates. Daniel Tevez and Austin Gomez grabbed a commanding 6-0 win in the third doubles slot.
 
On the singles side of the match, the Warriors won all six matches while only dropping two sets. In the first singles position, Itaru Kikuchi rallied back to win consecutive sets by scores of 6-1, 6-0 after losing the opening set 3-6. Cade Edwards came out on top in his match in dominating fashion, only surrendering three games in his 6-2, 6-1 set wins. Swing also had a successful morning match as he found himself in the win column with scores of 6-1, 6-3.

MATCH TWO: LC State def. Whitworth 7-0
The second match saw more of the same from the Warriors, as they again were victorious in earning the doubles point and taking all singles matches. This time Bruchard and Kikuchi were paired together in the top seed for doubles where they bested the Pirates 6-3. Swing and Wu posted the same score in the second doubles slot.
 
Swing and Wu displayed top-tier performances in singles as well, together they only dropped one game. Tevez topped his Whitworth opponent 6-2 in both sets and Bruchard took the second spot in singles by scores of 6-3, 6-0.
