LEWISTON, Idaho – LC State Men's Tennis stretched its winning streak to five matches on Sunday with a sweep of NCAA Division III Puget Sound in the Tennis Center. The Warriors took two of three matches to earn the doubles point, then swept singles play to complete the 7-0 victory.
Austin Gomez and
Andy Wu excelled in the No. 2 doubles spot. They were the first duo to finish their match and did so with a 6-2 win.
Matus Rusnak and
William Bruchard took the top doubles match in a hard-fought 7-5 battle.
LC took five of six singles matches in straight sets. Bruchard had the most dominant win with a score of 6-1, 6-2 in the second slot. Rusnak (No. 1 singles) and
Larry Magalasin (No. 3 singles) each only dropped four games in their wins. Beknarzar Tusungazy earned a 7-5, 6-1 win in fourth singles,
Cornelius Sia won No. 6 singles 6-4, 6-1, and Gomez battled through three sets for a 6-4, 2-6, 10-4 win in the fifth spot.
