KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After a record-setting weekend at the plate, LC State Baseball senior and Lewiston native
Luke White was voted the NAIA Baseball National Player of the Week.
White had a monster weekend at the dish to help the No. 3 Warriors to a sweep of UBC to begin Cascade Conference play. He became the first Warrior since current head coach
Jake Taylor in 1993 to hit two home runs in the same inning, and then became the first LC State player to homer in four straight at-bats. White hammered four home runs and two doubles for a 1.533 slugging percentage, tallied nine hits in 15 at-bats (.600) and knocked in 14 runs.
Monday's conference honor was the first of his career, and the NAIA nod is also a first. White is the second Warrior this season to earn the national award, joining
Sam Linscott.
LC State is at Corban this weekend for a four-game Cascade Conference series.
