VOLLEYBALL

Lewis-Clark State Volleyball opened Cascade Conference play with a 3-1 victory at Walla Walla on Friday, and continues CCC action this weekend. The Warriors were led by 15 kills and three aces from Grecia Ung Enriquez, and nine kills and five blocks by Hallie Seaman.

LC State will travel to No. 19 Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon for a pair of matches Friday and Saturday. The Warriors dropped both meetings with both teams last regular season, and fell to OIT in the CCC tournament. 

LC is 2-5 against OIT dating back to 2018. The last victory over the owls came in five sets in the spring of 2020. Jada Wyms tallied a career-best 23 kills in the match while Channa Hart and Carli Berntson each had four blocks. The Warriors are 0-6 against perennial powerhouse SOU dating back to 2011. LC took the Raiders to five sets in the final meeting last season behind 15 kills from Ung Enriquez. 

Both matches will be streamed by the hosting schools and live stats will be available. 

CROSS COUNTRY

Warrior Cross Country opens the 2022 season at the NW Clash, hosted by Eastern Washington, on Sept. 1 in Cheney, Wash. The men will kick the morning off with the 6k at 9 a.m., and the women will run in the 4k race at 9:45 a.m.

LC State will compete against strong competition from NCAA Division I schools including Gonzaga, Montana State and EWU. Spokane CC, Whitman, Whitworth and Walla Walla will also race against the Warriors.
