Warrior Weekly Preview - Oct. 22-28

GOLF

Warrior Golf opens its final tournament of the fall on Sunday at the Whitman Confluence Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole event will be played at two different courses in Walla Walla.

“The men and women will be able to see some teams we aren’t used to seeing a lot this week,” Head Coach Zach Anderson said. “The NWC is a solid golf conference in NCAA Division III with many national-caliber teams. It will be great competition. Hoping to end the fall on a high note.”

The tournament is a non-conference event and will not impact LC State’s Cascade Conference standings. The season will pick back up in March at the RMC Intercollegiate.

CROSS COUNTRY

LC State Cross Country added one final meet to close out the regular season with the Sasquatch Open. The Warriors will send a group of runners to Spokane on Wednesday.

The races will give those that have missed time due to injury a chance to compete, as well as allow runners that may not race at conference another shot at improving this season.

Postseason action begins on Nov. 3 when the Warriors compete at the Cascade Conference Cross Country Championships, presented by U.S. Bank.

VOLLEYBALL

The Warriors are coming off one of the most exciting matches of the season with a 3-1 victory over Oregon Tech on Saturday. The win gives LC State momentum heading into a weekend in Portland against Multnomah and Warner Pacific. Senior Kenzie Dean had a big weekend defensively when she passed coach Katie Palmer for second all-time on the all-time digs leaderboard at LC State (1,593).

LC State opens the weekend at Multnomah on Friday. The Warriors swept the Lions in Lewiston behind 17 kills by Juliauna Forgach Aguilar. LC is 8-0 against Multnomah dating back to 2018.

The Warriors hold a record of 10-0 against WPU dating back to 2010. LC swept the Knights in the contest in Lewiston this season with 14 kills by Forgach Aguilar and 11 from Gianna Anderson.

Forgach Aguilar is second in the Cascade Conference in kills per set (3.92).
