KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the fifth straight school year, every LC State athletic team earned NAIA Scholar Team honors, announced as part of the NAIA National Awards Day. 2025-26 marks the third consecutive year the Warriors had 15 programs eligible for the distinction.
 
The award recognizes teams that achieve a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
 
"Having 15 teams earn the NAIA Scholar Team designation for the third consecutive year is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the dedication of our student-athletes, coaches and LC State faculty," Athletic Director Jim Klemann said. "At LC State, we take great pride in fostering excellence both in competition and in the classroom, and this recognition reflects the commitment our teams make every day to uphold those standards. We are incredibly proud of these Warriors for continuing to demonstrate what it means to succeed at the highest level academically and athletically."
 
Women's golf led the department with a 3.78 grade point average while both men's basketball and women's cross country earned a 3.70 mark. Nine teams earned at least a 3.5 GPA overall including men's golf, women's tennis, volleyball, women's indoor and outdoor track and field and women's basketball.
 
LC State Baseball, competitive dance, men's indoor and outdoor track and field, men's tennis and men's cross country also earned the distinction.
