Men's Cross Country | 11.16.2023
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Before action kicks off on Friday morning at the 2023 NAIA Cross Country National Championships on Vancouver, Wash., 15 LC State student-athletes were honored with Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete accolades. The Warrior men had eight award winners and the women had seven.
To be named a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in standing with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or better. Students must have attended their current institution for at least one year.
"We are excited to see our team maintain high standards in all aspects of their lives as student-athletes," Head Coach
Mike Collins said.
Senior
Brycen Brown and juniors
Conner May and
Luke Sellmann each earned the award for the third time in their careers, as did women's seniors
Madison Howe and
Brooklyn Shell and junior
Abigail Gorton. Junior
Grace McCormick earned it for the second time.
Men's runners
Jacob Adams,
Connor Alexander,
Alexander Fry,
Tristin O'Brien and
Clay Shumaker each earned the award for the first time, along with women's student-athletes
Grace Dixon,
Abigail Peightal and
Grace Tiegs.

The Warriors compete at the national meet on Friday. The women run at 10:30 a.m. with the men to follow at 11:30 a.m.
