MISSOULA, Mont. – The Lewis-Clark State Men's Tennis team dropped a pair of matches to NCAA Division I opponent Montana on Sunday.
The two losses snapped a three-match winning streak and dropped the Warriors' record to 6-8 on the season.
MATCH ONE: Montana def. (RV) LC State 7-0
Declan Townsend pushed Sam Baldwin in the opening set of No. 2 singles before dropping his match 7-5, 6-2. Dan Felker lost in No. 1 singles in a good matchup with Gustav Theilgaard 6-3, 6-4.
Maksim Matyrnyi was the only Warrior to take a set, but lost in No. 6 singles to Jake Watkins 2-6, 6-2, 10-6.
Austin Swing pushed George Russell to a No. 5 singles tiebreaker in the second set but took the loss 6-1, 7-6(7).
LC was unable to win any of the doubles matches.

The Warriors put up a much stronger fight in the second match, taking two singles and nearly a third.
Malte Sommer won a tightly contested No. 5 singles match with Jake Watkins where both sets went to a tiebreaker 6-7 (4), 7-6 (8) before winning the third set tiebreaker 10-8.
Matyrnyi came back from a set down in No. 6 singles to earn the win over Josh Watkins 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.
Felker took the first set over Tom Bittner in No. 1 singles before dropping his match 5-7, 6-3, 11-9.
