BREMERTON, Wash. – Sophomore Isabella Barquet shot the second-lowest round of the Thunderbird Invitational on Tuesday with a 2-under, 70 to catapult herself into the top 10 in the final standings. The performance helped the No. 23 Warrior Women's Golf team improve to fourth in the team standings after the two-round event to close out he fall portion of the season.
 
"Today was an overall better day," Head Coach Zach Anderson said. "The women found a bit of consistency at times and were helped out by Isa's great round. I am really proud of the women for fighting back into fourth place today. A lot of growth this fall from this group, and I am excited to get better this offseason and see what we can do in the spring."
 
Barquet tied the lowest round of her career and was one of three players to shoot a 70 or better in any round of the tournament. She carded four birdies on the back nine, including back-to-back on holes 15 and 16. The sophomore finished in a tie for seventh with a two-round total of 148.
 
Four strokes separated the rest of the LC State golfers. Chase Caruso followed up her career-best 77 on Monday with an 81 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 21^st. After a bogey on her first hole, she regained momentum with a birdie on the next. She finished with a 158, one stroke ahead of junior Dallis Shockey. Shockey carded a 77 to tie for 24^th in the field.
 
Freshman Jane Barry shot an 83 on the day to finish two strokes back of Shockey. She tied for 29^th with a 161 total after the two rounds. Fellow first-year Giulia Belfontali was one stroke behind Barry after a 79 on Tuesday. She tied for 31^st.
 
No. 2 British Columbia won the team title and Thunderbird Bo Brown won a three-way playoff to take the individual crown.
 
UP NEXT
The Warrior women will break for the winter before picking back up for the spring portion of the season.
