RESULTS
LEWISTON, Idaho – Despite the final score, the LC State Men's Tennis team showed its grit and competitiveness on Sunday against NCAA Division I Montana. Though the final overall score read 6-1 in favor of the Griz, each match was battle that put the Warriors' talent on display.
Alvaro Camino highlighted the day with a three-set win in his singles contest.
LC State put up a fight in doubles action.
Pablo Herrera and Camino battled to a 6-3 loss in the top slot while
Juan Pablo Naranjo and
Giacomo Moreira did the same in No. 3 doubles.
Camino won his three-set No. 5 singles match with each set being won in close fashion. He took the opening frame 6-4 and fell by the same score in the second. With the overall match decided, the two played to a 10-8 tiebreaker set with Camino edging his DI opponent.
Moreira also had an impressive first set in No. 3 singles and was edged in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-3). Herrera won eight games in his No. 2 loss (6-4, 6-4).
UP NEXT
The Warriors head to Arizona next week for NAIA matchups with Arizona Christian and Ottawa (Ariz.).
